An Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpreter service will be arranged on request for appellants or any other participant to an appeal who are members of the Deaf community or hard of hearing. Please contact the Access officer of the Tax Appeals Commission (“the Commission”) to arrange this service.
All members of the Deaf community or hard of hearing can access ISL services through the Irish Remote Interpreting Service (IRIS). This is a free service is provided by the national Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS) for Ireland.
Members of the Deaf community or hard of hearing can communicate with the staff of the Commission in their own language (Irish Sign Language) with an ISL interpreter on screen.

The Commission website includes an accessibility solution called ‘Accessibe’ to address accessibility requirements relating to the UI, design, and readability of our website by enabling users to modify our site’s design to meet their individual needs.

The Commission tries to provide, over the telephone, as comprehensive a service as possible to appellants that are vision impaired. The Commission has also ensured that correspondence and form filling is kept to a minimum.
Access officer
The Access Officer is responsible for providing or arranging assistance to persons who encounter difficulties accessing services provided by the Commission. In accordance with Section 26 (2) of the Disability Act 2005, if you require assistance to access the Commission’s services, please contact our Access Officer.
